You think LeRibeus will make the team?

With the drafting of Spencer Long and the signings of Lauvao & McGlynn LeRibeus may be on the outside looking in.

Gettis and McGlynn have versatility to play center and Long has been working out at center as well as guard.

If LeRibeus isn’t taking reps at center (and I don’t think he has since his rookie year) then I think that’s a sign that he either has to win a starting job over Lauvao or Chester to make the team.

It could happen, but I think it’s a long shot

I think if LeRibeus continues to improve then Chris Chester may end up getting cut. But Adam Gettis and Maurice Hurt are the ones who are really in competition with LeRibeus for a roster spot though. LeRibeus is a much cheaper option than Chester and the have Long also as fellow third round pick. If LeRibeus had not dropped the ball last season, he may have started last season. McGlynn’s versatility at both guard and center will more than likely earn him a spot.

Yeah, I agree about LeRibeus. It’s a shame he took his job and spot for granted last year because if he hadn’t, he may have started the last month of the year or so when we knew we were out of it.

I’ve heard Gettis will be competing for the reserve center spot also. It seems to me the experiment with LeRibeus playing center failed his rookie year because I’ve not heard him mentioned to take snaps there or seen him practice or play the center position. Initially they were hoping he’d be the redskins future center I read from a Chris Russell report when LeRibeus was drafted.

I don’t know, it just seems with our additions that he’s going to have to really, really improve and beat out Chester to make the team.

I have Gettis as a reserve center to Kory L and McGlynn and Long as the reserve guards at the moment and they’ve both been taking snaps at center also.

I do agree that LeRibeus could be a back up, but I think they’d chose the other two over him if they’re working at both center and guard

I think Gettis could work at center, but I think his size works against him at guard as Jay Gruden has stated he wants to get bigger along the offensive line. However, it’s good to have a lot more options this season than the Redskins had last year.
