The second round was more interesting than the first as the Redskins were finally joining the party. Texans up first again then us…       2014 NFL Mock Draft

Round 2

33.   Houston Texans – AJ McCarron, QB

34.   Washington Redskins – Cyrus Kouandjio, OT

35.   Cleveland Browns – Xavier Su’a-Filo, OG

36 .  Oakland Raiders – Kyle Van Noy, OLB

37.   Atlanta Falcons – Jace Amaro, TE

38.  Tampa Bay Buccaneers – David Yankey, OG

39.   Jacksonville Jaguars – Joel Bitonio, OG

40.   Minnesota Vikings – Jimmie Ward, SS – Identified as a weakness, Vikings to shore up the defensive backfield. Bortles and Ward represent a fine day’s work for the Vikes.

41.   Buffalo Bills – Allen Robinson, WR

42.   Tennessee Titans – Jeremy Hill, RB

43.  New York Giants – Demarcus Lawrence, DE

44.   St. Louis Rams – Jarvis Landry, WR

45.   Detroit Lions – Jordan Matthews, WR

46.   Pittsburgh Steelers – Dante Moncrief, WR

47.   Dallas Cowboys – Kareem Martin, DE – After going secondary with their first pick, they need to shore up the D line with their second rounder. Martin is a big unit who can fill a need as a 4-3 DE.

48.   Baltimore Ravens – Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE

49.   New York Jets – Bradley Roby, CB

50.   Miami Dolphins – Morgan Moses, OT

51.   Chicago Bears – Deone Buchanon, SS – Further help to the free-agent ravaged Bears D. Should start immediately.

52.   Arizona Cardinals – Tom Savage, QB

53.   Green Bay Packers – Stephon Tuitt, DT – The Pack further strengthen their defence with this value pick for the monster pick from Notre Dame.

54.   Philadelphia Eagles – Cody Latimer, WR – Eagles bolster their receiving corps after the loss of Jackson with this big target from Indiana.

55.   Cincinnati Bengals – JaWuan James, OT

56.   San Francisco 49ers – Weston Richburg, OC

57.   San Diego Chargers – Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB

58.   New Orleans Saints Lamarcus Joyner, CB

59.   Indianapolis Colts – Gabe Jackson, OG

60.   Carolina Panthers – Cameron Fleming, OT

61.   San Francisco 49ers – Scott Crichton, DE

62.   New England Patriots – Marcus Marton, OC

63.   Denver Broncos – Marcus Roberson, CB

64.   Seattle Seahawks – Martavius Bryant, WR

Round 3

65.  Houston Texans – Marcus Smith DE

66.  Washington Redskins – Chris Borland ILB

Ok, the final two picks were my own but with the Texans looking for outside pressure to take some of the heat from JJ Watt, the Redskins were able to select Chris Borland, the highest rated ILB left on, to hopefully replace London Fletcher. A quick, tackling machine with a good motor, the slightly undersized ‘backer from Wisconsin has big shoes to fill.

Many thanks to my team mates John Foxley, Paul Brunsden, Liam Whiting, Tom Clarke, Ash Latter, Tom Burridge and Dave Crane for their help and company in making this mock.

Note – a few days ago I wrote an article outlining the first three picks I hoped we would get. They were Koundjio, Borland and McCullers. First two done, just hope we pick the monster DT from Tennessee…    2014 NFL Mock Draft
