Free agent wide receiver DeSean jackson has agreed to terms with the Washington Redskins as reported by Dianna Russini of NBC News 4. Jackson has been meeting with the members Redskins organization and team over the past few days, and it seems they have finally agreed on a deal.
Jackson was cut last week by the Philadelphia Eagles amidst rumors that surfaced that Jackson had gang affiliations. Some speculated that this might be the reason the Eagles cut him, but it also could have been because they no longer wanted to pay him as much as they were.
The Redskins were DeSean Jackson’s first and last visit as a free agent. As the Skins were able to lock him up before he left Washington. In spite of the rumors of gang affiliation, Jackson is certainly one of the top receivers in the NFL, and instantly gives a tremendous boost to the Redskins passing game.
The offense already featured a top receiver in Pierre Garcon, and they just signed another free agent in Andre Roberts. Combine that with tight end Jordan Reed, and head coach Jay Gruden and quarterback Robert Griffin III now have one of the top receiving units in the NFL at their disposal.
