The Redskins agree to terms with Clifton Geathers

ESPN’s Adam Caplan reports that the Washington Redskins have agreed to terms on a contract with Philadelphia Eagles free agent defensive lineman Clifton Geathers.  Geathers is a career backup, and will help add some depth and size to the Redskins defensive line.

Clifton Gaethers is an extremely large player at 6’8, 340 and the Redskins do not have another player on their line with quite that size.  Geathers tallied 13 tackles last season after appearing in all sixteen games for the Eagles. He has one sack so far in his four year career.

Don’t get this one at all. We lose Darryl Tapp and possibly Rob Jackson may leave so we have to count on Orakpo and Kerrigan staying healthy. So we load up on backup D line and O line???

The Redskins must be trying to create some spirited competition on the defensive line. People are going to be fighting for their jobs hard.

Geathers is massive at 6’8, 340. He instantly becomes the Redskins biggest defensive lineman.
