It seems the Washington Redskins have decided to “Buy” on DeAngelo Hall. NBC Washington has reported the cornerback has signed a 4 year worth about $5 million a season. The Redskins and Hall have been in talks the past few weeks and they have finally worked out a deal.
However, if the $5 million a year total is true it seems the Redskins are happy with the job Hall has done starting a cornerback, and look for him to continue as a starter. Hall led the Redskins with 4 interceptions on the seasons, and often covered the opposing teams’ best receiver.
the Redskins may look to sign another free at cornerback, and if so the Patriots Aqib Talib may be a target, as depth at the position is still thin. It’s doubtful the Redskins will re-sign their other free agent starting corner Josh Wilson. And they have rookie David Amerson returning next season and he may end up starting.
Hall has been with the Redskins for six season and has 23 interception during that time. He is not know for his physical play, but has been one of the Redskins most consistent defenders over that time. With Jim Haslett returning as defensive coordinator, it will be interesting to see what Hall’s role will be moving forward.
