2013 Redskins Awards – Most Valuable Player.  Who do you think was the top player for the Redskins in 2013?  We’ll look at the nominees and you can vote your choice.

1. Pierre Garcon, WR - Garcon rebounding from an injury plagued 2012 season to have a record-breaking season in 2013.  He had 113 receptions on the year, breaking hall of famer Art Monk’s previous team record.  Garcon added 1,346 yards and 5 TD’s also.  He more than doubled the next highest number of catches for the second leading receiver in the team, tight end Jordan Reed’s 45.

I would argue it’s a close call between Orakpo and Williams. Garcon was awesome, but Orakpo has developed into one of the most complete 34 olbs in the league, and Williams is as you said rated as the bestLT in the game, while in reality he is probably at least a top 3 LT. How much worse would RG3 have looked if Compton was starting at LT? Williams and Orakpo took over games in a way that Garcon, while a solid number one, can’t really do. I just mean Garcon isn’t going to go for 300 yards in a game like megatron or Gordon.

You make some good points Anton. I think if Orakpo had been dominant the majority of the season, then it would definitely be him. But he wasn’t as consistent the whole season, like Williams and Garcon were. So I would have to rank them above him.
