Missing Sean Taylor

Missing Sean Taylor Right Now!

I was searching the internet for latest Redskins news when I stumbled upon an article about the hit Sean Taylor laid on punter Brian Moorman in the Pro Bowl a few years back. After enjoying watching the hit a few times, it took me to another link – 20 minutes of Sean Taylor highlights.

So I sat back to reminisce, and mourn the loss of a player who could have gone down in Redskins and NFL history as one of the best players to ever play the safety position.

Boy could we do with him now! Just watching some of the plays he made, from awesome hits, to coverage, to stripping the ball, they were just coming at me!

With Sean Taylor in our secondary, the whole play of our defense appeared to be elevated. There was an attitude, a determination, a hustle that we just haven’t seen in recent years. Opposition players were intimidated from going into his zone, even flinching when he got close.

The whole of the defense seemed to want a piece of the action, hustling to the ball.  I know it was just a highlight reel, but it emphasises what we lost and what we are missing right now. A defense that intimidates, a defense that creates turnovers, a defense that can make a key stop when it is needed the most, a defense that gives the offense good field position.

If you have 20 minutes spare, search on You Tube under “Sean Taylor Hard Hits” and enjoy the work of Francisco Orozco…
