New Orleans Saints – 11-5
Seattle Seahawks - 13-3
Saints vs. Seahawks. A matchup of the one of the league’s best offenses against the leagues’ best defense. The New Orleans Saints go on the road to face a team that nearly unbeatable at home (7-1) in the Seattle Seahawks. But the Saints defeated the Philadelphia Eagles on the road last week to here, so they won’t be intimidated by coming into Seattle.
The Seahawks have one of the most raucous environments in the NFL in their stadium CenturyLink Field. The Saints already experienced it this season in a week 13, 34-7 blowout loss to the Seahawks. So the Saints will no doubt have revenge on their minds, and they come in to the game with momentum on their sides from the win over the Eagles.
And as we’ve seen in the past, sometimes the team coming off of the bye week comes out sluggish and overconfident being at home, so the Saints have a chance at a win. But I don’t think the Seahawks will be looking past the Saints. Quarterback Drew Brees is always a threat, and I think the Seahawks defense will be geared up to face him.
But I think it’s the Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who will be the key to the game. Brees’ passing numbers make Wilson’s look paultry. But I don’t think it’s the quarterback’s arms that will necessarily be the difference, it’s their legs. And Wilson’s ability to scramble will be the thing that sets the teams apart.
Just as we saw last week with Colin Kaepernick, a quarterback who can run can elevate his team to another level. And Wilson’s running ability combined with the Seahawks defense, and their home field environment will give the Seahawks the edge they will need to win the game. Saints vs. Seahawks. 4:25 pm – FOX
