5. Carolina Panthers (12-4) - Entering the 2013 season everyone knew the Panthers had one of the better defenses in the NFL, but there were question marks on offense.  Quarterback Cam Newton was coming off of a sophomore slump in 2012 and there were two other teams in the NFC South in the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints who were projected to be better.  However, in the end the Panthers end up winning the division.
