San Diego Chargers - 6-7
Denver Broncos - 11-2
Chargers vs. Broncos. The Chargers are coming off a big 37-14 win over the New York Giants, where they beat one Manning quarterback in Eli, only to have to face another this week in Peyton. There will be some emotion involved as Chargers head coach Mike McCoy returns to Denver, where he was the offensive coordinator last season.
McCoy has done an admirable job in his rookie season by keeping the Chargers within striking distance of a wild card spot. But the Broncos still appear to be pulling away in the AFC West, as they’ve conquered the Kansas City Chiefs twice in the past month, and can extend their lead in the division with a win over the Chargers.
The Chargers kept things close with the Broncos in their week 10 matchup losing only 28-20. And this being a divisional matchup only suggest that it may be close again. The Broncos offense is scoring in bunches, and Peyton Manning is on fire. However, the Chargers Philip Rivers is having a good season as well, and should be able to score against the Broncos defense.
However, I don’t think the Chargers will win. Broncos head coach John Fox and his coaching staff knows McCoy well, and will have their defense prepared enough to win. Although the Chargers will put up some points, they won’t be able to come up with enough to overcome the Broncos. Broncos win. Chargers vs. Broncos.
Score prediction: 35-27 Broncos
Points spread: Broncos - 10
