New Orleans Saints - 9-2
Seattle Seahawks – 10-1
Saints vs. Seahawks. This game is shaping up to be “the” marquee matchup of the season. And features one team in the Saints that has a great offense and the other team in the Seahawks that has a great defense. There are also two legitimate MVP candidates in this game in Drew Brees for the Saints and Russell Wilson for the Seahawks.
The clash in styles should be very entertaining, as the Seahawks have been one of the few teams in the NFL that has consistently defied to apparent take over of the NFL by offensive football. They do it with good pass rushing and the best secondary the NFL has seen in a long time, led by cornerback Richard Sherman and safety Earl Thomas.
The Saints on the other hand have flourished on offense under head coach Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees. But ironically the Seahawks actually score more points per game than the Saints, and sit a number two in the NFL behind the Denver Broncos at 27.8 points per game, and the Saints are third with 27.7 points.
I think the Saints will have some success on offense against the Seahawks defense, but I don’t think the Saints will win. The Seahawks are on a six game winning streak and are unbeaten at home this season at 5-0. Quarterback Russell Wilson has never lost a start at home in his career at 13-0, and I think that trend continues here. Seahawks win. Saints vs. Seahawks.
Score prediction: 27-24 Seahawks
Points spread: Seahawks – 5
