Green Bay Packers - 5-5-1
Detroit Lions - 6-5
Packers vs. Lions. Prior to Aaron Rodgers injury, the Green Bay Packers were riding high, and it seemed as though they might run away with the NFC North Division Title. But when Rodgers went down, the Packers hopes slid down with him. Then focus shifted to the Detroit Lions in the North. However, a two game losing streak has silenced the Lions roar.
And it’s not just the losing either, it who they’ve lost to. Teams in the Steelers and the Buccaneers that one would think the Lions should have beaten. But now the losses to those teams have brought the Lions post season hopes into doubt, and placed head coach Jim Schwartz squarely back onto the hot seat.
The Packers have been reeling without Rodgers. A four game non-winning streak has sent them into a tailspin. But if they could steal a win on Thanksgiving against their division rivals, then they will have an excellent chance of winning the NFC North when Rodgers returns to the lineup.
However, I don’t think the Packers will win. The tradition of playing on Thanksgiving will fire up the Lions and will break them out of their two game funk. The Lions offense has been dormant recently, but will come to life led by the spectacular Calvin Johnson against the Packers. Lions win.
Score prediction: 27-23 Lions
Points spread: Lions - 6
