Adam Carlson of thevikingage.com answers five questions about the upcoming contest between the Minnesota Vikings and the Washington Redskins. Redskins vs. Vikings – week 10. Here is part – 1 of the Enemy Intel Report – Week 10
1) The Vikings were a playoff team last season, what are a few things that have gone wrong for the team this season?
There are quite a few things that are different from last season that are major factors in the team’s struggles this year. Most important is the changing of several starters on the defensive side of the ball. Many players have new roles in the defense, including Erin Henderson, Marvin Mitchell, Sharrif Floyd, Xavier Rhodes, and Josh Robinson. Not only that, but the offensive line has been very disappointing this year in both protecting the quarterback and creating running lanes.
2) How do you think Viking’s quarterback controversy with Josh Freeman and Christian Ponder will end up?
I don’t think the quarterback controversy will end up well at all. There is an old football saying that goes “if you have two starting quarterbacks, you don’t have one”. I believe that is true when talking about the three headed monster behind center for the Vikings this year. I think the Christian Ponder experiment in Minnesota is over and the Vikings will use a high draft pick on a quarterback in the upcoming draft. Right now, if Ponder plays well, he could work himself into the backup role.
