Redskins Still Have Work After Win Over Eagles

The Redskins looked very good against the reeling Philadelphia Eagles in a 31-6 win.  Robert Griffin III was very efficient and wowed fans and teammates going 14-for-15 for 200 yards and four touchdowns.  If you own him in your fantasy leagues, he also added 84 rushing yards.  These types of performances are what we have come to expect from the rookie QB, but because he put up such gaudy numbers it over-shadowed the mistakes made by the offense when it had several chances to go up and put this game in the rear view mirror early.

The Redskins went 13-80 yards with several offensive and procedural penalties.  These are errors that must be corrected because, even to the casual fan they are glaring.

The False Starts

There is no reason to have so many false starts at home.  But today, Tyler Polumbus had two in one series, Alfred Morris had one and even RG3 committed one (albeit it was more of getting the play call off in time).  There are “gimme” five yarders to the defense and will normally pave way for a 3rd and long which the Redskins have shown to have their difficulties with this far this season.

The Illegal Formation

You should not have more than one or two a season, at least the good ones don’t.  When you don’t know where you are supposed to be and where you should line up in Week 11, you know you have problems.
