Kerrigan: "There's plenty of season left" for the Redskins

Ryan Kerrigcan happily greeted fans and patrons in a FedEx Store in Northern Virginia, promoting a contest that could send up to 10 Redskins fans to the next home game versus the Philadelphia Eagles.  As Kerrigan greeting excited fans and signed autographs he did answer questions regarding the state of his team and where he feels they are and where they are headed.

As one fan got a a photo signed, Kerrigan reiterated to him “There’s still plenty of season left”.  One would expect nothing less from this young linebacking star, but he further elaborated when I had a chance to ask him some questions.

When I asked about playing without Brian Orakpo, he suggested it was more of everyone being able to pick up the slack where needed and play their role.  He clearly feels that the talent is there despite what the records and stats show.  It may be hard convincing fans of this, based of recent performances but a good showing Sunday is necessary to get fans and skeptics to think differently.

When asked about Nick Foles and how they defense would be game planning for him, he seemed hesitant to give authentic game plan insight (not expected) but mentioned there are things that Vick does that Foles can do and vice versa.  The Redskins in the last few years have not fared well versus rookie QB’s, it will be up to the Kerrigan led defense to change this and get the Redskins back on track.

Below is the video, the sound quality isn’t great:
