Redskins vs. Atlanta Falcons: Five Statistical Projections

On Sunday the Atlanta Falcons(4-0) make the trip to Landover, MD, to take on rookie sensation Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins(2-2). The Redskins have struggled mightily throughout the first quarter of the season, but have had many bright spots that have cemented two victories against better than advertised teams. In week five, the Redskins will face their toughest opponent yet in a Matt Ryan led offense, and lethal passing attack. In order to beat the Falcons, Griffin III will need to be spot on and the defense must step up. Here are five stat projections for Sundays match-up that will end up deciding the game:

1) Robert Griffin III: 19-24-264 TD Passing, 6-85 TD Rushing

2) Alfred Morris:  26-140 2 TD Rushing

3) Pierre Garçon: 7-108 TD Receiving

4) Ryan Kerrigan: 10 tackles, 7 solo, sack, INT, 3 Passes Defended

5) Billy Cundiff: 4-4 FG(54 Long), 4-4 PAT

Robert Griffin III will once again be impressive, and will once again lead this team to a late scoring drive, securing a victory. He will not, however, be alone in his valiant efforts. Second year linebacker Ryan Kerrigan will have his best game of the season, and the rest of the defense will do just enough to secure the victory. The offense will continue to roll as Pierre Garçon, Adlrick Robinson, and Leonard Hankerson should all be 100 percent, giving Griffin III a dangerous receiving corps. The former Baylor star won’t use his arm all day though, as Alfred Morris will have his second 100-yard game in his short NFL career. Sealing this victory will be none other than kicker Billy Cundiff, who’s horrid kicks almost cost the Redskins a thriller in Tampa Bay. He will use this game as a confirmation that he is a top kicker in this league, and do that by going perfect with a few long balls.
