Redskins sign Ryan Grant

According to multiple reports, the Washington Redskins have signed former Green Bay Packers running back, Ryan Grant.

The free agent was without a team through week three of the NFL season, and was actually finishing up a workout with the Chicago bears when he got a call from Washington. The exact details of the contract have not been released, but it was a smart move for Bruce Allen as both Evan Royster and Roy Helu are injured. It is also unknown who will be removed from the 53-man roster.

Grant is a six-year veteran, who rushed for over 4,000 yards and 25 touchdowns with Green Bay, where his production fell off over the past two years.

Washington also signed former Jacksonville defensive-back David Jones, waiving injured Crezdon Butler.
