Captain Chaos is a Redskin no more. The longest-tenured active Redskin has been released, per Mike Shanahan.

Shanahan said that he couldn’t afford Cooley the opportunity that he wanted, which was to be a starter in this league. The move was to be expected with Darrell Young starting at fullback and two tight ends in Davis and Paul potentially ahead of him on the depth chart. Several teams are said to be possibly interested in the now former Redskins tight end.
