Redskins begin roster cuts

Per a tweet by ESPN980, the following players have turned in their playbooks and are no longer a part of the Redskins:

  • Neil Rackers – K
  • Kevin Barnes – CB
  • Lance Lewis – WR
  • Lennon Creer – RB
  • Morgan Trent – CB

With the Redskins releasing Neil Rackers, the way had been paved for Graham Gano to retain his job. Rackers was 1 of 2 in the preseason, while Gano did not attepmt a field goal. Another name that stands out is former Maryland Terrapin, Kevin Barnes. Barnes has played corner and safety for the Redskins, but apparently Mike Shanahan didn’t like what he was seeing thus far. At least ten more cuts will be made by 4:00 pm today, so stay tuned to Riggo’s Rag for more!
