Per, Redskins GM Bruce Allen announced on ESPN Radio 980 this morning that the team was possibly persuing a trade with the Oakland Raiders. According to RHH, the Raider’s greatest need (that the Redskins can satisfy) is at tight end. The Oakland Raiders could potentially offer the Redskins an offensive lineman prospect or even a late-round draftpick. There has been no official release of information regarding trade talks other that what Bruce Allen said this morning. There will be ongoing coverage of the potential trade on Riggo’s Rag and via Twitter @RiggosRag.

Dont trade cooley he is to valuable of an asset to the team

I think he’s valuable, but only as an insurrance policy. Fred Davis is the clear #1 and Paulsen or Paul could easily substitute when necessary. Cooley was great, but he is an average tight end at best now.

he is a backup that is aging and has injury problems. why not? if the trade is for a starter player on the oline. I take it all the way. Team before player.
