After Randy Moss’ nasty break-up in New England, he was soon a Minnesota Viking (again) and then a Tennessee Titan. This love story could have a happy ending for Randy and ultimately the Redskins. Moss is a future Hall of Famer, he’s one of the most prolific receivers ever and one of the few players ever known for quitting on his team. Two years ago Randy Moss hit the waiver wire and the Redskins didn’t take a chance on him. Last year he “retired” and seemingly called it quits forever. Now Randy wants back in and the Redskins could provide him with a serious opportunity to shine.
Washington must settle the quarterback position before anything else, but acquiring Moss could ensure that no matter who’s back there, there will be a legitimate threat to score at any time on the field. All media outlets (including Riggo’s Rag) talked about this season was the Redskins lack of a home run threat- Randy could be that guy. I may be crazy, but I believe had Rex started all sixteen games and Washington had a major threat like Moss on the field, the Redskins could easily have been 9-7.
The question now is will the Redskins pursue Randy Moss? How would a Flynn/Moss or a Griffin III/Moss combo look? The Redskins are approximately $46 million under the cap at this point so moves will be made. The turnaround for this franchise is about half-way complete and the next few moths will be very exciting. It can only get better from here right?
