Manning may no longer be an option for Redskins

A report from SportingNews.com have confirmed that Peyton Manning’s neck is not healing as well as it could and that he potentially may not even know his own status until the middle of the summer. His chances of landing a major free agent contract will most likely take a blow should this prove true. Manning is 35, has had three neck procedures and needs to think more about quality of life than quality of NFL career.

Manning has the Super Bowl ring and NFL records. He’s also made a considerable amount of money over his years in the league. His best option may be to just walk away before the Colts cut him. I’m sure there will be a market for him, should he be healthy. I’m just curious as to how many teams will be willing to risk it all on Manning. Hopefully the Redskins will reconsider Manning (if they ever considered him in the first place), and pursue a younger and more promising quarterback.
