With Caldwell out in Indy, Redskins may pursue Manning

Even Indianapolis Colts [former] head coach Jim Caldwell couldn’t survive the disaster that was the 2011-12 regular season. With Caldwell out in Indy, rumors are becoming even stronger that Peyton Manning will be on his way out. Other sources have Manning landing with the Jets in New York or a few other places that feel the need for an established quarterback.

ESPN’s Bram Weinstein spoke to Riggo’s Rag in an interview (to be posted tomorrow) about Manning and the possibility of him joining the Redskins. Bram had this to say- “I’m certain if Peyton Manning is in play, the Redskins make a big run at him. [Shanahan is in] survivalist mode. If he wants to stay [in Washington] for the foreseeable future, he has to upgrade at QB now.”

This adds yet another bullet to the list of possible Redskins solutions at quarterback. More on Manning, the Redskins and this weekend’s playoff games in Riggo’s Rag’s two-part interview with Bram Weinstein.
