AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Hi there Redskins fans. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Nick Foxley and I will be writing a few articles that I hope you will enjoy, relate to and respond to over the forthcoming months. I live in England and have been a Redskins fan since 1980, ever since my parents were posted to DC and I spent some fantastic holidays over there. I grew up with Joe Gibbs, Joe Theismann, John Riggins, Art Monk, Darrell Green et al so am used to, and expect a successful Redskins team. However, I won’t bore you with too many details [...]

Redskins coaching evaluations: who’s on the hotseat?

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

The results thus far from this season cannot be completely measured up to the output of the players on the field, as much as people want to blame them. Yes, they are the ones out there and they must produce, but they are led by someone. That person gives them guidance based on their knowledge or study of the other team to make sure that the 11 guys on the field at that particular time complete their assignments successfully. It’s their responsibility to ensure that in each play, each individual is put in a position where their strengths are used [...]

Does the NFL hate the Redskins?

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Several weeks ago, we learned that eleven NFL players had failed drug tests when the lockout ended over the summer. Players and agents blamed this on misinformation from the player’s union as to when testing would be legal once the lockout was over. Out of eleven players, only two names were released: Trent Williams and Fred Davis. The eleven players supposedly used the substances they tested positive for during the lockout. Most of us questioned how the league policy was violated at a time when the league didn’t actually exist. All of that, however, is a moot point right now. Redskin fans [...]

Dear Rex… a letter to the Redskins starting QB

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

“Dear Rex, What’s up homie! I got your letters, I’ve just been too busy to respond. I apologize if I’ve caused any anguish to you waiting so long to hear back from me. You seem to be doing a pretty darn good job coming off of the pneumonia! Yesterday, coulda been a little better as far as making decisions on which guy to pass to in your check-downs, but we’ll work on that in practice. It does seem you’ve dropped the 5-6 lbs you talked about in the off season though. Good job! (sidebar: are we still on for beers [...]

Redskins vs. Jets: Game prediction

AUTHOR: | IN: AFC East, NFC East, Redskins | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

On Sunday, the Washington Redskins play host to the New York Jets. While the Redskins have a terrible season, don’t count them out for this game. They may be the underdog, and have nothing to play for, but the ‘Skins will manage to pull off the upset and end the Jets season. Rex Grossman will have a mediocre game, and only throw one pick to Darrelle Revis. The Redskins recievers will have an enourmus game, as will runnig back Roy Helu. The defense will also play well, causing a few turnovers. At the end of the 4h quatar, the Washington [...]

Washington Redskins: Who stays and who goes in the offseason

AUTHOR: | IN: NFC East | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

After a promising 3-1 start, the Redskins have looked like the same under-achievers they have been for the past decade. Currently at 4-7, the season is already over, and the toughest part has yet to pass. With match-ups against the Patriots and Giants still on the schedule, things might get embarrassing, and most fans will want to tune out to next season. But what can we expect for next year? Here is a list of Redskins who will stay and who will go: Stay Roy Helu: After warming the bench for most of the season, Roy Helu looks to have [...]

Vince Young: The Anti-Rex??

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

If you are fortunate enough to have the NFL Network in your television programming package, then last night you got to see the theoretical end to the Eagles season. A couple of weeks ago, starting QB Michael Vick was taken out of commission with two broken ribs and head coach Andy Reid placed Vince Young in his position. For the first week against the Giants, it looked to be a pretty good move. Yeah, he made some mistakes, but in the end he put together a tough drive that essentially sealed the win for them, keeping the Giants out of [...]

Redskins vs. Jets: 5 keys to a Redskins win

AUTHOR: | IN: AFC East, NFC East, Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

After a disappointing month and half of football, the Washington Redskins got a much needed victory against the Seahawks. Even though play-off chances are slim, the ‘Skins should still try to play like they are fighting for the last spot, and hope Tony Romo takes the Cowboys on a free fall. Here are 5 keys that will help the Redskins beat the New York Jets this Sunday: 1) Keep protecting Grossman: Ever since he got the starting job back, Rex Grossman has not been hit a lot, and it has nothing to do with the 3 pounds he lost [...]
