So, what do we want, a Redskins win or RG3?

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Well, that’s the question as I see it. Beat the Eagles, drop a place or two down the draft board, and lose any chance of picking RG3 in April’s draft. Lose to the birds and we could go as high as fourth and have a stronger chance of trading up or picking him at #4. Of course we could lose and still not get him, and this is assuming he enters the draft in 2012. When Matt Barkley elected to stay in school for his final year, our prospects of taking a top quality QB with our #1 pick took [...]

Redskins Pro-Bowl Hopes: Not Again.

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

The last two seasons he was an alternate. This year, we thought it would be different… leading the NFL in tackles for more than half the season. We thought that at last fans, players, and coaches would see past the popularity contest the Pro-Bowl has become to vote in the players who have played the hardest to deserve it. Now I’m not saying Brian Urlacher is not a all-pro player, but should he have been voted in before London Fletcher? Absolutely not. Thank God that he already accomplished the ultimate goal in January 2000 in winning a Super Bowl with [...]

Redskins vs. Vikings: We need this loss… Wait what?

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

On Sunday, the Redskins play the Minnesota Vikings at FedEx field, and as depressing as it sounds, the ‘Skins need to lose this one. Why? Every win now pushes us farther back from an elite college quarterback. With the win over the Giants last week, Washington dropped out of the top 5, and Matt Barkley so kindly returned to USC. That leaves us with RG3, Landry Jones, and Ryan Tannerhill. But getting either of these guys, we can’t win anymore. As Redskins Fans we have to accept that the season is over, and our rebuilding continues next season, where (hopefully) [...]

2012 Draft: Where Redskins fit in

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

After last weekend’s win vs. the Giants and the Browns loss to the Cards, Washington slipped out of fourth pick down to 7th. Then yesterday we find out that Matt Barkley has decided to stay for his senior year at USC, which makes things that much harder for us to pick a QB. After taking stock of the teams expected to have the top 7 picks and their needs, here’s how I think the first few picks of the draft will pan out this coming April: #1 – Indy Needs: The next Peyton Manning. Predicted Pick: Andrew Luck. Yes, RG3 [...]

Redskins outplay Giants but at what cost?

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The Redskins notched up their fifth win of the season when they defeated the playoff seeking New York Giants, continuing their strong play of the last few games. But at what cost? Now of course we all want to see the Redskins win, especially against a division opponent, but picking up a couple of wins at this stage of the season could have a costly effect on 2012 due to the affect of dropping a few places in the draft order. The majority of Redskins fans and reporters will expect us to select a quarterback in April’s draft with a [...]

Chance of snow in Hell; Redskins up 14 on Giants at half

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Grossman went deep and was intercepted not once, but twice. Pass interference penalties were missed, touchdowns were dropped by the Giants and enough plays were made by the Redskins to go into the half with a 17-3 lead. Santana Moss and Darrell Young have both scored touchdowns and Graham Gano squeaked in a field goal. The Giants led a late rally on the final drive of the half for The Giants are contending (or not contending) for their playoff lives, but the Redskins have been the team coming out with the quick tempo and great physical play. Jason Pierre-Paul has [...]

Why Redskins could fall to the 6th pick

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Everyone in DC wants to see the Skins get as high as they can in the draft now that they are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Most people want to see them draft Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin, III. Others want to see USC’s Matt Barkley. I think we have a problem in getting one of these guys. The Cleveland Browns. The first three picks in the draft are pretty set. Indy will definitely get the first pick. St. Louis should close out the number two pick. The third pick should go to Minnesota, especially after they lose to the [...]

Redskins LaRon Landry to be placed on I.R.

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Washington Redskins will place star safety LaRon Landry on Injured Reserve list for the second straight season. Landry has been heavily bothered by a strained groin and Achilles tendon, which caused him to only play 8 games this season. Last year, Landry ended his season with the same injury, and was on pace for a career year and a pro-bowl. He expects to have surgery on his Achilles tendon this off-season. Landry had 43 tackles on the season and 1 forced fumble.

Is the Giants game a win-win situation for the Redskins?

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

For the last decade, the Giants have been the toughest team for the Redskins to beat. It’s strange that we enjoy beating Dallas more, when the Giants have taken 16 of the last 22 games against us. A win this Sunday would give the Redskins their first sweep of the Giants since 1999, and would give the team and their fans some confidence that the Giants’ dominance against us is over. In 1999, Norv Turner was our head coach, Champ Bailey was our star rookie, Brian Mitchell was still returning kicks for us, Stephen Davis and Michael Westbrook were our [...]

Fletcher vs. Brady: Was it a clean hit?

AUTHOR: | IN: NFC East, Opinion, Redskins | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

In close games, tempers usually flare between opposing forces. On Sunday, the Redskins and Patriots were in a back forth battle from the start, trading blows on each drive. Of course in the game of football, there will be some questionable calls, and referees will make mistakes. But on Sunday there was no excuses when the officiating team flagged, conferenced, then upheld a bogus penalty against London Fletcher. Known as one of the nicest guys in the league, Redskins linebacker London Fletcher was flagged for an unnecessary hit on QB Tom Brady. When the replays were shown, it was clear [...]
