Kyle Orton waived, Redskins a possible suitor

Per a report by Adam Schefter on ESPN just moments ago, the Denver Broncos have (finally) released quarterback Kyle Orton. There are several teams that should be interested in him as there has been a rash of starting quarterback injuries across the league. The Chicago Bears, Orton’s former team, look to lead the pack as far as possible landing spots for the veteran quarterback.

Your Washington Redskins, however, do not need this guy. This season is essentially lost and Orton does not know the system, nor would he be able to significantly contribute any time soon. The Redskins will most likely look to the draft for their future quarterback in 2012 and beyond.

More information on Orton’s status as this story develops.
