Redskins vs Jets: all about defense
The Redskins and Jets both came alive offensively last weekend. This Sunday at Fed Ex Field, neither team is likely to have the same kind of success. Although Rex Grossman has looked better the last two weeks, he hasn’t seen a secondary even close to as good as what the Jets will have on the field. Conversely, most of the offensive performances from Mark Sanchez this year have helped Skins fans realize that a team’s quarterback situation can be much worse than the one in Washington. Sanchez was one of the most sought after quarterbacks in the 2009 draft, and many [...]
Redskins vs. Seahawks: which Rex did we get?
Most of last week I had been waiting to see which Rex would show up at the Seattle game this past weekend. I think most of Redskins Nation was just hoping it wouldn’t be Bad Rex. I would have settled for Good Rex, but I was really hoping for that Mean Rex character who showed up at the Dallas game a week ago brushing the dirt off his shoulder with an angry scowl on his face as if to say “Sexy Rexy’s here and I mean business.” That guy showed up and played like a man possessed. Ending the game [...]
Why the Redskins will win
After another tough loss, the Redskins now sit at 3-7, last in the NFC East. Things do not look like they’ll improve this season, but there is always next season(we’ve said that a few times before). If they keep up this fabulous lose streak, a top 5 pick is within reach. No fans or players like to lose, so let’s look at the Redskins Week 12 opponent Seahawks, and why the Redskins will win. The Redskins will win because Good Rex is coming out to play. After a nice thanksgiving dinner, Rex Grossman will look to get the job done [...]
Four years later, Redskins safety Sean Taylor remembered
Last year I wrote a piece on Sean Taylor, his life, his career and interviewed several people for their opinions and where they were when they heard he had lost his life. This year, I would like to put his life into the personal perspective of a die-hard Redskins fan. That fan just happens to be me. As a kid I had a Terry Allen jersey, then a Stephen Davis, then a Champ Bailey, then Darrell Green in the 70th anniversary throwback style. I only wanted to invest in players I thought I could wear for a long time. I [...]
Remembering Sean Taylor
Gone but never forgotten. Rest Peacefully Mr. Taylor. (April 1, 1983 – November 27, 2007) @The_SkinsSource
Redskins vs Seahawks: which Rex will show up?
That’s the question to ask. Which one of these guys will show up this Sunday in Seattle? Clearly the guy who shows up in that burgandy and gold jersey with the number 8 on it makes or breaks this offense. An offense that has clearly proven to be suspect or non-existent. Let’s hope the right guy comes to play this weekend. Good Rex Characteristics: Known for completing passes for a few hundred yards while typically throwing the ball away twice or fumbling in between good plays. Other Aliases: Most commonly known in some circles as Sexy Rexy Defining Moment(s): [...]
Redskins give many reasons to be thankful
Even in the middle of yet another disappointing season by our beloved Washington Redskins, I have still found many reasons to be thankful for this historic franchise. First and foremost because of the prestige of the Redskins, there is a worldwide interest in current events and breaking news regarding their actions. Because of this I am able to be a part of the best collection of sports writers on the Riggo’s Rag blogsite. I am extremely thankful to be a part of this team and look forward to entertaining the fans of Redskins Nation for a long time. I am [...]
Stay strong Redskin fans!
For the last twenty years, we Redskin fans have endured a lot of pain and suffering. As much as it hurt when the Cowboys kicked the game winning field goal on Sunday, things have been much worse. Since our last Super Bowl, we have watched ownership waste high draft picks on guys like Heath Shuler, Reggie Brooks, Rod Gardner, Patrick Ramsey, and Malcolm Kelly. The last two drafts, however, have been a little more promising, bringing in talent like Ryan Kerrigan, Leonard Hankerson, Trent Williams, Perry Riley, and Roy Helu. While we aren’t winning lately, these young players are gaining [...]
Redskins will beat Seattle, I guarantee it
Sure, my opinion may not be worth as much as a well dressed advertiser that guarantees that you’ll like the way you look, but you should hear me out. Seattle is terrible, they may just be the worst 4-6 team of all time. Their offense has more of a problem converting third downs than we do, at 31.7% as opposed to our 35.5%. They have Tavaris Jackson at quarterback. This is the same guy that couldn’t get a pass off in Minnesota, they bring over his favorite target with him and still no production. Tavaris has been the leading passer [...]
Gano lets it go
And then it was six… Since defeating the St. Louis Rams almost two months ago, the Redskins have failed to win a game since. On Sunday, they were defeated by the Dallas Cowboys a second time this season in an overtime thriller. Facing a 10 point deficit in the 2nd quarter, the Redskins stormed back to overtime. Graham Gano lined up to kick the potential winner, half-way through the extra period. But the 52 yarder went wide right, and the 2nd year pro wagged his arm in disappointment. Sunday was, however, a rather productive day for the Redskins offense. Rex Grossman went 25 [...]
