Redskins go into bye week beating expectations
Rex Grossman/Reuters The Redskins will rest during this weekend with a bye. It is safe to say that at this point they have exceeded expectations with a comfortable 3-1 record. The only loss thus far was against their chief rival, the Dallas Cowboys. Even that game was close, though losing solely off of a plethora of field goals is quite bemusing, and disappointing. Still, many might have thought the Skins would be sitting at 2-2 right now, or even 1-3. I’ll take 3-1. The Skins up to this point have certainly exceeded my own expectations for them. So let’s look [...]
Redskins still missing identity through four games
The Redskins held on Sunday for a 17-10 victory over the struggling St. Louis Rams. The box score was not indicative of how close this game should not have been. Washington was up 17-0 in the third quarter after a short bruising drive lead by running back Ryan Torain and a field goal by Graham Gano. The game seemed to be the Redskins to lose and lose they almost did. “Bad Rex” kicked in just in time for the Rams to put together a few decent drives and initiate a no-huddle offense that had the Redskins on their heels. My [...]
Mike Shanhan discussed his team’s success and areas of need in his Monday presser: The plane ride home from St. Louis following the team’s 17-10 win was one of the more upbeat trips in years. Players walked around the cabin chatting with teammates and staff, enjoying the victory. Head coach Mike Shanahan said on Monday that the team imust continue to improve as the season progresses. “I was hoping to be where we are right now as a football team,” Shanahan said. “I think we have gotten a lot better as a team and as an organization. We have made [...]
Rams will beat Redskins today
Here is the blog’s Rambin’ Fan’s take on todays tilt between the Redskins and Rams, which Justin the editor predicts a Rams win. Check out his site at ramblinfan.com, a great site covering the gaurdians of the West, the St. Louis Rams. 1. How confident are the Rams this season as far as continuing on their march on the NFC West, after falling short of the division title by one game? Honestly, confidence was high here in St. Louis entering the season. The 0-3 start has kind of but a damper on those positive feelings. It’s not that the Rams [...]
Important week for Washington vs. St.Louis
History shows that the Redskins do not play particularly well in games in which they are expected to win. One of those teams in recent years being the St. Louis Rams. Coming into week 4 after a disappointing loss to the Dallas Cowboys which also created a 3-way tie atop the NFC East, the Skins cannot afford to lose back to back games. Steven Jackson is banged up, however Cadillac Williams is filling in pretty nicely. Last year when facing the winless Rams, they didnt finish they game that way. I believe Washington should approach the game as if [...]
