You don't get what is going on here - this is a rebuilding year. Nobody wants to face that fact, typical of the 'skins nation (of which I have been a member since Sonny and "wobble and win with Billy") but it is what it is. A Rebuilding Year.

Grossman did not get pulled because he had a bad game; he got pulled because across 5 starts (plus 3 from last year to make 8) he has been regular Rex, not Uber-Rex. Coaches have seen enough to know that the book on this guy is accurate, there turns out not to be any special magic here, just Rex. Now that they know that, they don't need to see any more Rex, now they need to see Beck. The book on Beck is sparse, so they need to see him in some games to get the measure of him.

Winning the games is obviously the tactical focus - nobody wants to lose (ignoring the Luck stuff going around (of which the 'skins are not in the running anyway)) and the fans deserve the best that we can provide, BUT the strategic focus is not "get into the playoffs and superbowl" because that is not happening this year and everybody knows that. The strategic focus is to rebuild this team, and they need to see what they have for real in the QBs because at the end of the season, they have some very critical decisions and deals to make.
