Here is the blog’s Rambin’ Fan’s take on todays tilt between the Redskins and Rams, which Justin the editor predicts a Rams win. Check out his site at ramblinfan.com, a great site covering the gaurdians of the West, the St. Louis Rams.
1. How confident are the Rams this season as far as continuing on their march on the NFC West, after falling short of the division title by one game?Honestly, confidence was high here in St. Louis entering the season. The 0-3 start has kind of but a damper on those positive feelings. It’s not that the Rams are 0-3, but it’s how they have lost the three games. The NFC West is certainly still winnable, but this team needs to drastically improve quickly if they want to compete.2. What is your take on Sam Bradford’s year two?Bradford is a special player, but year two has been rough to say the least. I think most of the blame goes on the lockout and the fact that he has had very little time to learn and master a brand new, very difficult and complex offense brought by new OC Josh McDaniels. Bradford will improve as the season goes on, but he has struggled thus far handling pressure and holding onto the ball too long.3. What is the biggest contributing factor to the Rams being 0-3?The Rams are winless at this point because they can’t stop beating themselves. Their Week 2 game against the Giants was certainly winnable, but they turned the ball over and made several costly mistakes. The opening game against the Eagles was also winnable in theory, but Philly is a better team. Last week’s disaster against the Ravens was a combination of Baltimore being much better than St. Louis and the Rams failing to show up at all.4. How confident are the Rams coming into this game with the Redskins? It’s hard to gauge where the team’s confidence level is at this point. They sure looked like a team that lacked any confidence at all last week, but I think the Redskins were a game the team circled before the season started as one they should win. Steven Jackson is expected to be back this Sunday, and I think that should help the team’s confidence level. We will know very early on where the Rams heads are at, so they need something good to happen early in the game.5. What is your prediction for the game?
I predicted a Rams win in weeks 1 and 2, and I couldn’t have been more wrong. However, I still like the matchup this week. The Skins are on a short week and on the road again, and the Rams should be feeling some desperation after the 0-3 start. I expect the Rams to come out with much more energy than last week, and I think St. Louis gets their first win of the season. Rams 21 Redskins 17.
