History shows that the Redskins do not play particularly well in games in which they are expected to win. One of those teams in recent years being the St. Louis Rams. Coming into week 4 after a disappointing loss to the Dallas Cowboys which also created a 3-way tie atop the NFC East, the Skins cannot afford to lose back to back games. Steven Jackson is banged up, however Cadillac Williams is filling in pretty nicely. Last year when facing the winless Rams, they didnt finish they game that way. I believe Washington should approach the game as if they are facing a playoff team. Every NFL team has weapons and all it takes is one bad game from key players to even up the competition.
Kerrigan was last week’s top rookie and I believe this recognition will help catapult him to the next level with the added confidence. With more pressure up front from Kerrigan and O-sack-po on the edges, it will eliminate the need to blitz in normal blitzing situations. I also expect Grossman to quiet the critics for good by putting up huge numbers this week. Grossman is quietly having a very solid season ranking in the top half of all the major statistical categories for QB’s. My sleeper standout pick for the game is Anthony Armstrong. I think his hype has died down enough for the Rams to have not gameplanned for him. I see extra emphasis being place on our double tight end look and stopping the run. Prediction: Washington 38 St. Louis 10.
