Will the Redskins trick or treat?
Atogwe – Questionable Cooley- Out Hightower- Out Moss- Out Buchanon- Out Hall- Out Fletcher- Questionable Sellers- Out Williams -Out No Problem!!! It’s been proven that when there are big time injuries, someone steps up and produces in their place. With Moss out, I feel it gives the young hungry recievers a chance to step up and make big plays. Armstrong showed that was possible last year. On top of that, Beck is more comfortable throwing the ball to the bottome of the depth chart with whom he’s had the majority of his reps with in practice. The Redskins defense [...]
Three reasons the Redskins will win in Toronto
After a thorough interview with the Bills Fansided blog at Buffalowdown.com about the Redskins and how they stack up against the Bills, it got me thinking. I believe there are (at least) three good reasons why the Redskins will win this game in Canada. 1. Ryan Fitzpatrick is a pocket passer
Is Chris Cooley “Ring of Fame” worthy?
By now many of you know that Redskins tight end Chris Cooley was placed on injured reserve, ending his season with a broken finger and knee injury. The injuries, combined with the exponential growth of now-starting tight end Fred Davis have lead to a question of whether or not Cooley will be back for the 2011-2012 campaign. Mike Shanahan’s thoughts on whether he makes the roster are an entirely different argument. I’m here to talk about whether or not this guy is “Ring of Honor” worthy.
An early look at the Redskins and Bills in Toronto
Time to head north of the border, aye? The Redskins will travel to Toronto on Sunday to take on the 4-2 Buffalo Bills. Buffalo is rested and ready, especially after witnessing the 33 points Carolina put on this Redskins defense. It’s easy to take the pessimistic approach and talk about how Fred Jackson should run through our 17th ranked rush defense. You could also talk about the mounting pile of injuries including several starters on the offensive side of the ball. I’m not going to regurgitate anything you didn’t already know about this team. Here’s what you may not know.
Injury Updates
As Kevin first mentioned in the previous post, it was confirmed by the team today that Tim Hightower did indeed tear his ACL and will miss the remainder of the season. A definite setback for the team as Hightower had looked really good running the ball throughout the preseason as well as regular season games in which he was active. Santana Moss underwent surgery today and had three pins inserted into his broken left hand (sounds painful), and will miss approximately 5-7 weeks. Coach Shanahan also noted that backup QB Rex Grossman remains in the hospital with pneumonia and will [...]
Rex gives Redskins one final gift
Ladies and gentlemen that gift was pneumonia. During FOX’s coverage of the Redskins game there were many references to Rex Grossman and his lack of presence on the sideline. It was reported that the former starting quarterback was in the locker room with the flu, hooked up to an IV. Welp, looks like that’s spread to the locker room. Reports are coming out now that other players, including London Fletcher, DeAngelo Hall, Rocky McIntosh and Stephen Bowen were all sick and even throwing up on the sidelines during the game. Isn’t this just the perfect injury to add to the [...]
John Beck has rushed for this second touchdown of the season as running back Tim Hightower went down with a knee injury and running back Ryan Torain was spelled by rookie Roy Helu Jr. The Redskins are now down 16-13 and showing signs of life after a lackluster half of play by both teams.
Game is all on Beck now
With the last Cam Newton touchdown, the Redskins have gone down 16-6. The game is now in Beck’s hands. A ten-point deficit and now an injury to Tim Hightower, things could spiral out of control if John Beck does not right the ship. The Redskins season isn’t necessarily on the line right now, but a bad loss to a bad team could compound many of the other issues this team faces.
It appears to be an extension of the Eagles game last Sunday. John Beck isn’t doing much and the Redskins defense is having to pick up all of the slack. If not for the penalties agains the Carolina Panthers, the Redskins could be in a much deeper hole. The Redskins aren’t helping their cause with two fumbles early and one of them being on their side of the field with Gaffney coughing it up, leading to a Carolina fieldgoal to make it 9-6. The one bright spot for Washington is Tim Hightower. 25 has stepped in and done a good [...]
Grossman with possible pneumonia
Not-so-sexy Rexy is now sick. Per a report on CSN Washington- Rex Grossman has possible flu and could be pneumonia. He was limited in throws during pre-game warmups. His symptoms have been showing for the entire week and the entire Redskins locker room could contract whatever Rex has. Rex did make the trip and is available. The Redskins are only carrying two quarterbacks, but it was also reported defensive end Brian Orakpo could play in a pinch. Let’s hope we don’t have to find out.
