Gano puts Skins up by one

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

A Graham Gano field goal has put the Skins up on the Cardinals 22-21. With 1:45, the Redskins will have to play their best defense to keep the Cardinals away from field goal range.

Skins gamble on fourth and score

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

On fourth and three on the 18-yard-line, Mike Shanahan gambles and it pays off.  Santana Moss, under double covereage, catches a strike to the end zone to put the Skins in position to tie the game.  The subsequent two point conversion is no good however, and with five minutes to go, the Skins will have to stop the Cardinals.  A field goal will do it for the Skins though, providing they don’t give up more than three on the next drive.

Fitzgerald may have run away with Skins victory

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

With ten minutes to go in the fourth quarter of a very tight game, Kevin Kolb has thrown a 73-yard strike to Larry Fitzgerald to put the Cardinals up 21-13 on the Redskins.  Fitzgerald was wide open when he caught the bomb in-stride.  The game had been very close (it still technically is) up to this point, however several key turnovers have prevented the Skins from taking a lead they should have.  Also unstoppable has been Arizona RB Beanie Wells, close to the century mark in rushing yards.  The game is still within grasp for the Redskins, but they will [...]

Redskins look to avoid upset on Sunday

AUTHOR: | IN: A Closer Look, NFC East, Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Redskins will look to avoid a letdown versus Arizona this Sunday in what has been dubbed by the energy company NRG and the Redskins as the “Solar Bowl” due to the fact the stadium will be powered by the energy absorbed through those massive panels some of you may have seen in the parking lot at FedEx field. Washington is a three point favorite over the Cards as of now and with the Cardinals allowing over 400 yards passing by rookie Cam Newton, they will look to move the ball through the air on Sunday. The Cardinals are transitioning [...]

The outcome of one game is hardly an accurate predictor for how a team will fare for the rest of the season.  However for many Redskins fans, the 28-14 win over the New York Giants in the season opener has given a clear indication as to what the season will hold.  It will be better than last.  1976 was the last time the Skins beat the Giants in the opening game of the season.  The win, against a league rival, is a true testament to how much the Skins have improved.  The game wasn’t won off of a fortunate [...]

Antrel Rolle “The Redskins is not a better team than us”

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News | COMMENTS: None Yet

Per ESPN: Antrel Rolle admits that the New York Giants defense has a lot of work to do after the Redskins won the season opener. [B]But the safety believes that if the two NFC East rivals played each other 100 times, New York would prevail at least 95 times. “As a team and organization, we know that the Washington Redskins is not a better team than us,” Rolle said in his weekly spot on WFAN radio. “We know that hands down. If we played them 100 times, they might win five. They won that day. It never leaves a good [...]

Redskins remain humble in victory

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News | COMMENTS: None Yet

After yesterday’s 28-14 victory over the New York Giants the Redskins were granted a “Victory Monday” day off by Coach Shanahan. However the undisputed leader in the locker room, London Fletcher said on his teammates behalf that they wanted to come into work and get ready for the Cardinals. This attitude is a good foundation for this team as many had felt this team would not amount to much. The willingness to work may not make them a better team overnight but is a critical building block for a team that looks to improve and achieve more than what it [...]

Redskins vs. Giants week 1 recap

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

This amazing picture is the homepage shot for Redskins.com. Amazing effect. The date is September 11, 2011 and today marks the 10 year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorists attacks in New York City and Washington, DC. What better way to start off the year than with an intense division rivalry with the two affected cities represented teams. Coming off a rather impressive pre-season, I had high hopes for the Redskins. I’ve been watching the game for quite some time now and when a team looks as improved from one year to the next the way the Skins did…it’s no fluke. [...]
