McNabb having trouble with mechanics, Vikings think he should work on it

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Vikings may be on to something that the Redskins were onto last year.  According to ESPN: The Vikings have been evaluating Donovan McNabb‘s mechanics this week, a response to some inaccuracy issues that have bogged down the 34-year-old and the Minnesota offense. McNabb has only one turnover, an interception on his first play from scrimmage off a batted pass at the line, through three games. His predecessor, Brett Favre, had seven by this point last season. But several of McNabb’s throws have been uncatchable, either one-hoppers that landed well short of receivers or air balls that sailed over the [...]

Skins record only TD, Dallas records the win

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Skins’s touchdown in the third quarter would be their last score of the night. It took Dallas six field goals to beat their rivals the Redksins. They did it the hard way, not scoring a single TD, and in the process deflated a Redskins team high off of two opening season victories.  Cowboys win 18-16.   More to follow.

Gano bombs a fifty-yarder to tie game at the half

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Redskins and Cowboys will go into half time tied at nine. Both teams have three field goals apiece and have been unable to find the endzone by conventional means. First team to record a TD may very well be the victor the way things are looking.

And Dallas goes up by three

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Dallas marched a miffed Redskins field goal attempt down the field, but again were unable to score a TD. Dallas goes up 9-3. No one seems to be able to get that magic TD.

And not to be outdone, Dallas answers back again with three

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

This time it was Rex Grossman’s turn to turn the ball over, throwing an interception. Just as the redskins had problems putting the ball in, so too did Dallas and they had to settle for three points to square the game up at six apiece. The game is becoming a war of attrition as both teams are having trouble getting anythign started.

Redskins score three on Gano chip-shot

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Redskins scored another field goal, though they were unable to make the most of a costly Dallas fumble at about the Dallas ten. Tim Hightower has been off to a slow start, slipping again at the line of scrimmage. The passing game has slowed as well, and the Skins will have to be more effective. They won’t be able to win off of field goals alone.

Dallas answers back with three

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Dallas capatilized off of a Redskins penalty on what would have forced fourth down and managed to march down the field before being stopped well within field goal range. The drive was aided in part by a misread on part of the Redskins which allowed a massive receiving gain. Other than that though, the Redskins defense looked sharp and Dallas’ run game was non-existant while the passing game looked off.

Redskins score first blood on Gano field goal

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Redskins started the game with a fairly impressive drive only to falter just in range of the Dallas red zone. Graham Gano was brought out and nailed a 46-yarder to put the Skins up 3-0 after the five minute drive. The team looks relaxed and is playing confident.

Dallas, TX All signs pointed to a Texas-sized route after Dallas marched down the field and scored with ease on their first possession. This would not be the case, as Washington followed by scoring 18 unanswered points, capitalizing off an interception before beating the Cowboys by a final score of 34 – 20. Rex Grossman threw for 280 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He started the game shaky for the second week in a row, but luck was with the Redskins and a Dallas offense lead by ailing Cowboy’s QB Tony Romo was unable to muster much more [...]

Scouting the enemy: Redskins at Cowboys

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

The continuation of my chat with Steve from the Landry Hat:   What is your take on the Cowboy’s injury situation?  Should Cowboy fans be concerned? I’m surprised. I figured there would be injury ramifications after the NFL lockout left players with a shorten off-season to prepare physically…but this is ridiculous. The season just started and it seems that half of our starters are already injured. The bye-week can not get here soon enough for the Dallas Cowboys (Week 5). It’s getting so bad that Head Coach Jason Garrett gave all the players an extra day off this week just [...]
