Three Redskins with something to prove heading into preseason finale

The Redskins are far and away a better team than last season for two reasons. 1)They have another year under two new systems – offense and defense 2.) They have been playing a cohesive unit.

Anyone can see these observations if you have been following the team *AHEM* Sporting News, ESPN Magazine.  But as we head towards a home date vs. Tampa Bay here three players who are potentially playing for their spot on the roster.

1. John Beck must show how badly he wants to QB this team and how ready he is to do it.

The most common argument is that he and Rex Grossman are neck and nect as far as the competition goes.  Beck needs to go out and show exactly why he should be the un-questioned starter.  Though I know that the Shanahans are aware of what talents he bring, a part of me feels they want him to prove it as well and show it on the field.

2.  Ryan Torain must show once again why he was the starter headed into camp

Inuries should never make you lose your job, but in Torain’s case they have given Tim Hightower an opportunity to show why he is the better choice over him.  At this point, it is safe to say that Tim Hightower will be the club’s feature back, but Torain my assert himself to show why he is not irrelevant and why he is capable of making noise on this team.

3. Terrence Austin must show he is ready to take on both roles.

Each time Austin touches the ball, he makes a play.  However, each time he makes a play on special teams, someone wonders what Brandon Banks may have done instead or better.

Austin has made plays but his ticket in is showing he is a double threat in offense and on special teams.  He might have one more shot in trying to prove that.
