Redskins shockingly release another veteran

The Redskins kicked off their Fan Appreciation Day by announcing that third year linebacker, Robert Henson had been released. The news broke as Henson himself tweeted it this morning.

Henson entered camp looking to battle Perry Riley for the position. He had not been able to practice after starting the preseason on the PUP list. When the Redskins re-signed last year’s Jack linebacker incumbent, Rocky McIntosh, it was certain Henson’s road to the starting line-up would be more difficult, but no one could have foreseen a release this early in camp.
