For players only camp has good showing but...

…Why isn’t everyone in attendance? reports the following Redskins showed up to the players only camp session:

Offense: Cooley, Beck, Lichtensteiger, Ryan Torain, Rex Grossman, Keiland Williams, Darrel Young, Chad Simpson, Clint Oldenberg, Mike Sellers, Brandon Banks, Anthony Armstrong, Will Montgomery, Maurice Hurt, Selvish Capers, Logan Paulsen, Leonard Hankerson, Aldrick Robinson and Evan Royster.

Defense: Fletcher, Chris Horton, Kevin Barnes, Brian Orakpo, Kareem Moore, Anderson Russell, Ryan Kerrigan, Kedric Golston, Lorenzo Alexander, Chris Neild, Rob Jackson and DeJon Gomes. Notable showing is former Redskin Justin Tryon who now plays for the Colts.

My concern with this is, if key players like Anthony Armstrong and Chris Horton can step away from getting punished in Words With Friends by Riggo’s Rag writers to attend team practice sessions then there is no excuse for everyone not to attend! (I may have just started something…)

It’s good to see a nice mixture of personnel on the field. You have the rookies working out, trying to adapt to the speed of the pro level game and you have some Pro Bowl veterans keeping sharp and helping mold the young Redskins to get better as the season nears.  I believe the players only practices are better for our team because it will build that bond between leadership and create that closeness in the locker room that seemed like it’s been missing over the past years. There are no coaches telling you what you are doing right or wrong but Players helping players. Orakpo teaching Kerrigan how to be Orakpo…Armstrong and Banks helping Hankerson develop into a threat just like they are. I’m excited and cant wait until I get to see ALL of the Burgundy and Gold on the field together!

End the lockout!!
