Redskins should look to Stanford to continue rebuild in NFL 2012 Draft

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News, Draft, Feature Commentary | COMMENTS: None Yet

Andrew Luck is the golden child everyone is looking to for the Redskins in the 2012 Draft, I however have taken notice to his left tackle.  Yes we have a tackle in Trent Williams, but why not load up and retool the right side? Queue Jonathan Martin, the guy responsible for keeping Luck upright. Name: Jonathan Martin College: Stanford Number: 55 Height: 6-6 Weight: 304 Position: OT Pos2: Class/Draft Year: rJr/2013 40 Time: 5.29 40 Low: 5.14 40 High: 5.44 Projected Round: Stock: Rated number 1 out of 151 OT’s 999 / 2118 TOTAL Need more visuals? A very early look at the 2012 NFL Draft for the Redskins

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News, Draft, Feature Commentary, In The News | COMMENTS: None Yet

Here is an early look at the projected top five picks in next year’s draft.  Its no surprise that most mock writers see the Redskins going hard after Andrew Luck, Stanford.  But is this what the Redskins will need most during their 2012 offseason?  Obviously it is too early to tell, but its never too early to speculate. Here is Walter Football’s very, very early Top 5 Mock Draft.   Washington Redskins: Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford Andrew Luck is the No. 1 prospect in the 2012 NFL Draft – for now. With Jim Harbaugh and three of his offensive linemen [...]

U2 plays to sell out crowd at M&T Bank Stadium; FedEx Field lies dormant

AUTHOR: | IN: A Closer Look, Breaking News, Feature Commentary, In The News, Opinion, Other, Popular, Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Last Wednesday I was fortunate enough to be watching one of the greatest bands of all time.  U2 was in town.  By “in town” I mean Baltimore, and as a Northern Virginian, that’s a little bit of a stretch for me.  However, geographic location is a moot point.  The important fact was that U2 had decided to play in a relatively easy location for me to get to.  Why they chose Baltimore, my friends and I could only guess.  But there they were before us; Bono, The Edge, and the other two guys that no one really cares about.  We [...]

Why a Redskin working out with the Eagles was fine by me

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News, Draft, Feature Commentary | COMMENTS: None Yet

This week Donovan McNabb made tons of news by showing up at a work out with the Eagles.  Actually let me clear that up, a few Eagle players.  This was not a practice nor did it resemble any form of practice whatsoever.   It was a bunch of pro football players working out in New Jersey.  Big deal?  No. Lots of fans and bloggers are spinning this out of control feeling betrayed by McNabb.  Some referring to many Redskin sticking up for McNabb and saying the right things.  I just a few comments on that.

Redskins QB says Eagles are like family

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News, Draft, Feature Commentary | COMMENTS: None Yet

Donovan McNabb said this in regards to the Eagles.  McNabb was in New Jersey  working out with a few of his old teammates. “It’s really like working out with family members,” McNabb said. “We’ve been a part of each other’s lives for 11 years.”

Redskins QB, Donovan McNabb, works out with the Eagles

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News, Draft, Feature Commentary | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

If things couldn’t get any weirder, they have.  Thanks to Brent from Brooding Burgundy, we have learned that McNabb is working with the Philadelphia Eagles at their players only camp. The Redskins blog offered some insight to this most odd situation.   Clipped from: blog.redskins.com (share this clip)   Clipped from: blog.redskins.com (share this clip) While McNabb wouldn’t comment on his situation with the Redskins, everyone else seems to know all about that. Nonetheless, what your thoughts on this?

Hey Redskin fans, the lockout may still take more time

AUTHOR: | IN: Feature Commentary, In The News, NFC East | COMMENTS: None Yet

For some of us who were hoping that this lockout would be over in a few weeks, according to Jeff Pash…it may be a bit longer until we see some resolution. According to Pro Football Talk: Our belief that keeping the lawyers away from the process can only speed up a resolution to the lockout may have been bolstered by one of the lawyers himself, as the league’s chief negotiator, Jeff Pash, indicated today that he expects to have plenty of work to do before the lockout ends. Asked how close an agreement is, Pash wouldn’t say the end of [...]

Who is leading the Redskins

AUTHOR: | IN: Feature Commentary, In The News | COMMENTS: None Yet

Talking to Sky Kerstein, of 106.7 the FAN DC, came on Backfield Radio and talked to the hosts about the type of atmosphere during the players only mini camp.  Talked about who is leading and who is standing out. John Beck, calling the offense and coordinating video recording of the practices. London Fletcher, paid for the the rookies flights to the practices. Kedrick Golston, not under contract, but going 100% and helping in distributing the playbook material. We are seeing leaders rise and continue to push this team.  But without the coaches, who’s to say how far along this team [...]

For players only camp has good showing but…

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

…Why isn’t everyone in attendance? www.Redskins.com reports the following Redskins showed up to the players only camp session: Offense: Cooley, Beck, Lichtensteiger, Ryan Torain, Rex Grossman, Keiland Williams, Darrel Young, Chad Simpson, Clint Oldenberg, Mike Sellers, Brandon Banks, Anthony Armstrong, Will Montgomery, Maurice Hurt, Selvish Capers, Logan Paulsen, Leonard Hankerson, Aldrick Robinson and Evan Royster. Defense: Fletcher, Chris Horton, Kevin Barnes, Brian Orakpo, Kareem Moore, Anderson Russell, Ryan Kerrigan, Kedric Golston, Lorenzo Alexander, Chris Neild, Rob Jackson and DeJon Gomes. Notable showing is former Redskin Justin Tryon who now plays for the Colts. My concern with this is, if key [...]
