The media and McNabb; Searching for excuses
If you haven’t figured it out by now, Donovan McNabb is unequivocally and irrefutably done. We’re not talking advanced physics here, just common sense and the connection of a few dots. What I find interesting right now is all the hubris brought forth by the allegations of McNabb refusing to wear a play-calling wristband. Personally, I find the whole story ridiculous. I’ve tried to determine the validity of it, whether it is fact, fiction, or a clever leak. I give up. I really don’t care either way. If you are wondering why I don’t care about the wristband, go back to [...]
McNabb has Options
Rumors abound about Donovan McNabb over the past 7 days. From Wristband-gate (someone needs to stop the “-gate” thing. Seriously) to retirement to Bernard Hopkins’ comments, McNabb has been in the news. A lot. Maybe too much. Much ado about a bench player, right? The good news for McNabb is that he has options. The Redskins may as well, if they want to hang on to him. The lockout works in McNabb’s favor this time. He probably would like to go to a Super Bowl contending team, giving himself one more chance to grab the ring that has eluded him. [...]
Donovan McNabb hits a multi-spoke fork in the road
While we continue to wallow in shadows of a lockout, we also continue hear and speculate on the future of Donovan McNabb. The subject of the 12-year veteran is an ugly one, but it greatly impacts the direction this team takes next season. Some writers still speculate McNabb to Minnesota to “groom” Christian Ponder who the Vikings drafted 12th overall in the last draft. This has been covered time and time again, and Minnesota would possibly be the best fit for him as they have plenty of pieces in place to conjure up a deep playoff run. However, if they [...]
Rookie free agents fit for the Redskins…
With the lockout providing more time to evaluate potential undrafted rookies to join the team, this year’s undrafted class should be the best yet. With all the holes the Redskins need filled, it should be a lot of young fresh talent coming to Washington. After reviewing the list of available rookies, I spotted a few players that could potentially help the team. QB- Jerrod Johnson, Texas A&M Alot of people forgot about this guy. He was a Heisman candidate who struggled last year. he has the potential to be good and with the right type of leadership could shock a few people. Could [...]
Yesterday we heard that McNabb refused to wear a wristband with plays on it, then we heard it was false, then we hear there’s no way to tell. If you are confused then here are some quote to beat around on that confuse you even further. Dan Steinberg, DC Sport Bog, writes this: * The original report, of course, came on 106.7 The Fan. And, like clockwork, one of the first and strongest denials came from Chris Russell, the former 106.7 The Fan reporter who now reps ESPN 980. Talked to 5 people that are close enough to know about [...]
Three reasons every Redskins fan needs to like John Beck
With Donovan McNabb’s situation murky and Rex Grossman a free agent, John Beck has been the talk of the town in regards to who will be the Redskins new starting quarterback. Little is known about him but there is apparently a lot of promise concerning him. Here are three reason we feel you should be excited for him as your QB. 1. He is determined to let past failures and short comings fuel his desire to succeed John Beck said this to the Washington Post in regards to his early stint with Miami: “When [Bill Parcells] first got there, I [...]
Why was Albert Haynesworth not at his own arraignment?
Albert Hayensworth pleased “not guilty” in regards to his sexual hassasment suite filed against him in a DC court this week. He did so remotely. Haynesworth did not post, but his attorney did on his behalf. But why was Hayensworth not here? He could be sentenced to a maximum 180-day jail sentence and a fine of up to $1,000 (I am sure he can handle that). Haynesworth’s attorney explains: “He’s not in Washington,” Bolden said, when asked where his client was Tuesday. “He’s got every right to waive his appearance under the law,” he continued. “It wasn’t a decision. It [...]

McNabb noncompliant with Redskins top Brass
That is the word on the street and according to “inside sources” as described by the Sports Junkies on 106.7 FM the Fan in Washington, D.C. The story stems from a dinner during Super Bowl week in Dallas between Dan Snyder, Mike Shanahan, Bruce Allen and Fletcher Smith (McNabb’s agent). Apparently while discussing future plans moving forward for McNabb with the team it was uncovered that Donovan McNabb refused to wear a play sheet wrist band when asked by the coaches. The reluctance stemmed from McNabb “refusing” to tarnish his image by wearing a “cheat sheet”. When learning of this, [...]
A NFL shutdown is not as obvious as one would think
People have been hearing a multitude of things regarding the lockout and if it is once again lifted. This time for good. We have heard that owners would consider “shutting down” the league in the event the final decision is not in there favor. That is what we have heard, but this is what ESPN’s Chris Mortenson reports: “As prominent NFL man says, please ignore concept being floated that NFL could shut down business if lockout lifted,” Mortensen writes on Twitter. “Not a chance, he says.” Mortensen later dismissed Goodell’s failure to take the option off the table by saying [...]
