With the lockout providing more time to evaluate potential undrafted rookies to join the team, this year’s undrafted class should be the best yet. With all the holes the Redskins need filled, it should be a lot of young fresh talent coming to Washington. After reviewing the list of available rookies, I spotted a few players that could potentially help the team.
QB- Jerrod Johnson, Texas A&M
Alot of people forgot about this guy. He was a Heisman candidate who struggled last year. he has the potential to be good and with the right type of leadership could shock a few people. Could you imagine if McNabb could take Johnson under his wing and show him the tools he needs to be elite?? What if his work ethic and desire to be one of the greats…scary huh?
RB- Graig Cooper, The U
The Redskins cannot…let me repeat CANNOT have enough talent at running back. Especially mutli-talented ones like Cooper. he is an excellent runner, reciever and special teamer. Cooper had an ACL tear that damaged his draft status where some scouts had him projected as high as a 2nd round pick. Running backs from The U have a great track record in the NFL and Cooper is definitely worth the risk.
LB- Mark Herzlich, Boston College
3 reasons you have to sign Herzlich: #1 He’s a cancer survivor… #2 He’s a cancer survivor that came back and performed well on the big time D1 level… #3 He looks like Lattimer from “The Program” HAVE to sign the guy that looks like and somewhat plays like Lattimer!! lol! Overall I see these three players in burgundy and gold and performing at a high level. Hopefully Coach Shannahan reads this and agrees with me.
