Sports Illustrated has reported in the truth and rumors section of www.cnnsi.com that Redskins QB Donovan McNabb joined Arizona WR Larry Fitzgerald in a training session. According to what was first reported by The Arizona Republic, several notables were on-site for the workout including Ravens TE Todd Heap and numerous other Cardinals players.
What can we take away from this, as a region prone to conspiracy theories as of late? Probably not much, but I would be willing to bet that rumors will start to ignite like wildfire if this news catches on. McNabb has an off-season home in Arizona, so convenience is more of a factor here than anything else. I highly doubt that Arizona would deal one of the best WRs in the game out to the Skins unless they received something substantial. It would be more likely that Arizona might be dealing for McNabb, as Cardinals QB Derek Anderson left much to be desired the past year.
Regardless, don’t lend too much credence to the fact that McNabb was spotted with Fitzgerald. Though Fitznabb has a lovely ring to it, I doubt that this is a matchup we will see soon. With the lockout still in full swing, players are going to get any practice they can. Hey, at least we know McNabb is working out. That should at least boost spirits for the Skins, right?
