The Redskins desperately need a wide receiver who can be a break out receiver. Not a receiver who has “potential”. So, with their third pick they went out a grabbed a quality receiver in Leonard Hankerson.
Grading the selection: B+
This is not a knock at all on Hankerson, but with some rumblings about the quality of pick they made with their first two picks, it seems they could have gotten a heralded stud with their first two picks. Nevertheless, they have addressed a need and they will certainly have a young talent to work with this summer.
Grading the Player: A
The Redskins lacked a player with size, at 6’2 209 he can get separation in mid-air. The Redskins lacked a three step possession receiver not named Chris Cooley, they got. Hankerson also has awesome hands, and has the ability to go deep. They have tremendous athlete.
Grading the Pick: A-
It was a smart pick in a good spot, no complaints here. As a matter of fact, we are exited about this pick.
