Washington Redskins was Ryan Kerrigan’s choice all along

Ryan Kerrigan was so gleaming with approval of the team that would select him he had to tell his mommy and daddy.

I for one am happy he is here!  He didn’t have all the fanfare, so he may have a bit of a chip on his shoulders.  He was drafted in the top 20 so he should have great ability.  So as he begins his pro career, here is a bi-polar welcome message for him!

A1. The fans here are like none other, they will love you and cheer you on as long as you’re here.  Play great, and they will treat you like a king well into your retirement days.

A2. The fans here can also crazy and can also turn on you if you give them a reason to make you a goat.  It’s true.  If you are even on a Redskins team that beats a pathetic team 9-7, expect them to boo hard.

B1. You have a great owner that will stop at nothing to ensure your team has all it needs to be successful.  And his players love him.

B2. He can also be insane.  He sues small newspapers for slander, he makes big newspapers re-name their blogs to not use the name “Redskins”, and he has some of the worst press in all of sports.  If you cross him, do not be surprised to find a tub of melting vanilla ice-cream or a flat panel TV for you to watch the playoffs because that is the only place you will see it.

C1.  You are joining a storied franchise that has three Super Bowl wins and plays in the toughest division in football.

C2. Your team has been the doormat of the division the last three seasons, and each of the other teams have made significant improvements in that time span that make them worth contenders.  The Redskins, meanwhile, have yet to get on track.

…In anycase, welcome to DC Ryan!

I’m really excited that the Redskins got Ryan. I think he’s a great fit and a great athlete. I look forward to seeing him wearing the burgundy and gold.
