NFL Draft: Draft to replace or draft to build?

My friend Brent brought up a point that interested me.  By no means are we implying that Jake Locker is a similarly styled quarterback to Donovan McNabb.

Brings me to a interesting though.  Should the Redskins draft to replace who they already have or draft to start something new?

Players on the roster that look to be on their way out? Donovan McNabb, Santana Moss, Philip Buchanan, etc.  These are guys who have performed well and great (Moss) for the Redskins but when looking at drafting should coaches seek out clones or fresh rookies who have the world ahead of them?

Personally I vote for the latter. The Redskins are really going to be in re-build mode this year.  They could win, but likely they will struggle.  However, in the long run it is better the struggle and groom than succeed in the short term and fail with the same problem.

Just my opinion, what do you think?

Check out my buddy Brent’s blog, the only other Redskins blog I will endorse!
