Dan Hellie of NBC 4 tweeted:
@LFletcher59 is reaching out to fellow #redskins to organize player run mini-camp in mid-april. Happening around #nfl?
This is something that most people were curious to whether the Redskins would actually be able to have their own. Mike Jones, Washington Post columnist wrote on March 15th:
There are reports that teams such as the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills already have begun coordinating private workouts. But Redskins linebacker Lorenzo Alexander said he and his teammates are waiting for now. They continue to work on their strength and conditioning on their own.
However, Redskins linebacker Robert Henson, who appeared on Backfield Radio last Monday, discussed the matter with the hosts and confirmed work-outs and practices are in planning.
It has been discussed [player-run workouts], there was an email sent out by the team captains. They wanted to get together on certain dates and get things done.
No matter who’s house or what football field. We just wanted to get those things done. Have that defense and offense etched in our minds. The way it’s looking, we’re not gonna get much time to get readjusted to things.
Our older guys are doing a good job of trying to get us together and it will happen pretty soon.
Henson referring to “captains” maybe him referring to London Fletcher, defensive captain, and Lorenzo Alexander, special teams captain. This is all just speculation. DeAngelo Hall, named a defensive captain late in the season, maybe involved as well. I am not certain that Donovan McNabb and Casey Rabach would be involved in this as their own status with the team headed into next season is uncertain at this point.
