RiggosRag.com jumps on Haynesworth to Philly story

Maybe you’ve read about it on msnbc.com or csnphilly.com, but you might have heard about it here first.  I’m not bragging, because we’re talking about nothing more than a rumor.  Whether or not those news services came up with the idea on their own, we started the rumor.  Jim Washburn’s arrival in Philly could signal Haynesworth’s trade to the Eagles.  To be honest, I’d be surprised if Shanahan pulled the trigger on that any time soon.  Really surprised.  At this point, he still seems to want to convert Haynesworth into a highly productive Redskin.  Having observed Big Al’s mood swings, I’m confident he’ll brood until he gets his way.  Accordingly, if anyone deserved to be suspended, Albert Haynesworth is that guy.  He’s the poster child of selfish, unless he lands in the environment he wants, of course.

Mike Shanahan doesn’t play.  Unless he and Bruce Allen decide they’re desperate for more draft picks in 2011, I don’t believe the ‘Skins will trade Haynesworth.  I especially doubt Coach Shanny will release him until he and Haslett determine that doing so is the only option.  So, the choices appear to be (a) trade Al for at least a 2nd-round pick by the end of the first round of the draft, (b) trade him for a couple of defensive players (cornerback, defensive end) before the end of training camp, (c) hold onto him and probably end up releasing him in the last roster cut-down.  I’m willing to bet Shanahan will do a, b, or c, no matter what the press and the fans think.

When will the drama end?  Either when Haynesworth is out of DC or he decides to honor the spirit of his contract.  Three months or 7 months – does it really matter at this point?  He’s oughta here.

Go Skins!

I just hope they do something in the time frame that we can get something in return, whether draft picks or player(s)
