Some Redskins reading and notes for the holidays

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Jag’s RB and best player, Maurice Jones-Drew is doubtful for Sunday’s game… really bad for them, really great for us. Vinny Cerrato has been HIRED McNabb’s agent speaks out about his client’s relationship with the Shanahans. Donovan has suggested modifications to Kyle’s offense based on intricacies Donovan has learned in his NFL career. For example, Donovan has asked all year that the team run more screen passes to help manage the pass rush more effectively. Ironically, Kyle decided to employ Donovan’s suggestions after he unceremoniously benched him on Sunday. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!  Go Skins!

Riggo’s Twas’ the night before Christmas

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Twas’ the night before Christmas, and throughout Redskins Park, All had gone home, leaving just me and Gary Clark. Shanahan left angry, his return not quite clear, Once again there would be no playoffs to celebrate this year. Sadness filled Gary’s eyes, as he bore a large frown, “A change is needed” he said “to turn things around.” “Let’s pray for a miracle and have faith in the Skins, A lot of luck will be needed, in order to get more wins.” When out on the filed, there arose such a clatter, I saw a shed in the distance, with [...]

LaRon Landry top NFC Pro Bowl vote getting safety

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Despite only playing in9 games and currently being on injured reserve Washington Redskins strong safety LaRon Landry led all NFC safeties in pro bowl votes. Having been moved to strong safety this season it allowed Landry to be used to the best of his abilities and wreak havoc near the line of scrimmage instead of constantly being put in to deep coverage. In just 9 games played his stats were

Shanahan is the man; Deal with it

Mike Shanahan is the head coach of the Washington Redskins and it will remain that way.  It should remain that way.  The biggest problem with Redskins fans is that we don’t know what we want.  Many were excited when the Skins landed Shanahan.  Many were excited when we landed quarterback Donovan McNabb.  Naturally expectations were high.  Now that things didn’t pan out the way most of us wanted, what do we do?  We want Shanahan fired.  That’s the wrong answer.

McNabb’s Future – Don’t ask, don’t tell at its best

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

This week on ESPN980, Donovan McNabb said he would still like to be in Washington despite the fact he felt both he and the team were disrespected by Head Coach Mike Shanahan, supposedly due to the timing of the announcment that Rex Grosman would start.

Could the Redskins be worse off than last year?

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: 8 Comments

Remember last year?  Remember 4-12?  Remember Jim Zorn, head coach of the Washington Redskins?  I thought that would be the low point; there was no way things could have gotten worse than what went down last year. That is, until this year happened. What did we do this offseason to respond to 4-12? It was business as usual, bring in the big name Coach, bring in the big name GM, bring in the big name player on their last legs, and get rid of draft picks.  Like we always do, we praised a lot of the moves at the beginning [...]

Disappointing season for ailing Orakpo

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

He stood as a glimmer of hope on a defensive unit that ranked 10th overall just a season ago.  In 2009 Brian Orakpo fell into the Redskins laps in the first round.  Most had predicted he would be off the board by the time Washington’s pick was up.  Instead the Redskins were able to land the Lombardi award winner from the University of Texas with the 13th pick overall.  The move provided immediate dividends as Orakpo started his rookie season and tallied 11 sacks during his freshman campaign.  He quickly generated buzz in D.C. which embraced him with an assortment [...]

Moss unable to grasp victory from the jaws of defeat

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News, In The News, NFC East, NFL, Redskins | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

Santana Moss was having one of his better games this year with the Washington Redskins. On the receiving end of two touchdown passes from Rex Grossman had suddenly erased a twenty point deficit. With all the momentum, the Redskins were set up to take the lead late in the 4th quarter against long time rival Dallas. Moss was the centerpiece of Shanahan’s game plan throughout. Targeted 13 times, Moss came up with 8 receptions for 72 yards accompanied by two touchdown scores. Now with the game tied and less than 5 minutes left on the clock, Moss was poised to [...]
