Mike Singletary FIRED

Mike Singletary is no longer on the hot seat in San Francisco; he's now seatless.

A breaking report from ESPN.com confirms that the 49ers head coach has been fired.

The San Francisco 49ers‘ eighth consecutive season without a playoff appearance has cost Mike Singletary his job as the team’s head coach.

The 49ers announced the firing Sunday night after the team returned to its headquarters following a 25-17 defeat to the St. Louis Rams earlier in the day.

Singletary is the latest casualty this season, joining the ranks of Wade Phillips, Josh McDaniels and Brad Childress. The 49ers were eliminated from playoff contention with their loss this Sunday.

dang that sucks…. Singletary is one of my 3 favorite players of all time so I really was hoping to see him do well as a coach.

Hopefully he will get another shot somewhere else eventually
