Grossman got his yards and touchdowns in "garbage time" when the cowboys were rushing 3 down linemen and playing a 3 deep zone. As soon as the cowboys blitzed him he got sacked twice in a row and the skins ended up punting allowing the cowboys on their game winning drive and the next series he threw an interception ending the game. But it's not the quarterback's fault the who problem this season has been the play calling and the game planning. It is clear to me that the Redskins have a coaching problem.

Grossman played well. I think his play will give the whole franchise a lift. I wrote about it on my blog.

The reason the offense seemed more productive with Grossman is because he can throw passes with more touch than McNabb, making them easier to catch. Note how much more production we got from screen passes.

Grossman throws the screen with an arc, instead of a rope like McNabb. The arc gets the ball over the linemen, and enables the receiver to catch the ball in stride. Grossman certainly does not have the arm that McNabb has, and this probably makes him less effective with some throws, but I bet the receivers like catching the Grossman "arc" more than the McNabb rope.
