Let’s quickly go over what goes on tomorrow in a nut shell. Rex Grossman will start at quarterback over Donovan McNabb – why?
This appears to be the question that is completely baffling fans that root for either team. If you are a Cowboys fan, this is great news. If you are a Redskins fan, you wonder if this organization has really gotten better at managing itself.
The McNabb benching is a bad move for many reason, other than his an indictment on his performance. I agree that McNabb is still the better athlete among those who play quarterback in Washington, but his performance on many occasions has been extremely suspect. For those who clamor that it is a sign of disrespect, benching McNabb because of his performance, they are dead wrong. However, the manner in which this was done was clearly of poor taste.
Any move that divides the locker room the same way it divides the fan base is a move that has potential to kill the team for season to come.
As a matter of fact, as poorly as the Cowboys have played this year, they have since played better.
Again, I would like to thank the Washington Redskins, Mike Shanahan, and Kyle Shanahan for making the Cowboys job a lot easier on Sunday. No one wants to be in the NFC East’s basement. All team’s try their best to win… unless they are the Redskins and starting Rex Grossman.
I think this assessment by Sanchez is way off base. I think he gives us too much credit for what is really going on. I feel the Redskins locker room is in shambles and the Cowboys will take revenge for their week one loss that began their season’s dive into peril.
Cowboys 37, Redskins 10
